What if screen time wasn’t considered a bad thing?
Too much passive screen time, on any screen, is definitely something to watch (pun intended!) but what about when children are actively creating? Involved in making movies, animation, writing stories, and my favourite - drawing.
This brief article starts to introduce the idea of Passive v Active screen time but there are many others to ingest. For me, if I’m thinking and creating then I get lost in what I’m doing and get a real sense of achievement. And what of those projects lead to other non-digital activities; designing a bookmark that is then used in reading; designing something to be printed on a laser cutter; making a unique birthday card; design origami paper? Our imaginations can take this in so many different directions - let's see where the journey goes!
