DIGITAL DRAWING FUNCAMEL CHAOS

The Digital Butterflies logo was designed over 20 years ago. I always thought there would be something I could offer that could help people with their creative journeys. It’s taken a bit longer than I thought to bring it all to life!

Why? Why two decades? Well, I had an established career as an Ed Tech specialist that kept me pretty busy, I moved overseas to develop that career further, work was all encompassing at times and left no breathing space for creative activity which is fundamental for this! And the biggest barrier - having faith in my own abilities as an artist.

Then, through a range of circumstances I found I had to slow down. I started painting, a lot! And LOVED it!! I started sharing my work with friends and colleagues. They loved it too. I made cards, and bags, sold paintings and just enjoyed the creative process so much. It helped me to relax and think.

Fast forward and I found digital art. I bought an iPad and Apple Pencil and the rest is history. I love digital drawing. It’s so versatile. My Camel Chaos series was so satisfying to draw though I made a lot of mistakes and used this to learn from. Now I draw lots of different characters and I can’t keep up with the ideas I want to draw, and record for others to try! I am inspire by what I see around me, what I read, what I hear.

Lately I have been doing a lot of design on Procreate to laser cut. It’s such a joy to see the finished product! I plan to do a lot more of this - I’m excited by the deliver of some acrylic sheets to make earrings and more! And maybe record a course on the process. Watch this space.
